In the 1920's, we acquired an interest in Dominion Silk Mills, a Toronto producer of silk and synthetic yarns for the wire and cable industries. We became national agents for Dupont representing cellophane for tear tapes for cigarettes, chewing gum and candy. Also through this relationship, we were the first to introduce nylon and rayon into Canada.

In the 1940's, Dupont decided to bring their sales operations in-house. We acquired Dominion Silk Mills and continued operating in Toronto manufacturing braided insulation for telephone cables and tapes for cable wraps for the telecommunications industry.
